FRI is approved by the U.S. Department of Justice for Bankruptcy Reform Credit Counseling. Approved to issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of an Agency’s Services. FRI receives grants from foundations as well as revenue from contractual relationships along with consumer fees for counseling and provides certified and experienced credit counselors. FRI offers financial and budget counseling to help consumers understand their financial position as well as how to develop a budget and options to manage debts. The counseling consultation is not reported to the credit reporting agencies but a debt management program as well as a bankruptcy would be reported. FRI is a 501c3 non-profit public charity. The fee for counseling is determined by the Federal Poverty Guidelines, annual gross household income and how many people are in the household. The counseling service is available for free or at a reduced rate based upon the client’s ability to pay. The fee can be paid via cash, check, money order or via pay pal.
